Taking a break...

Yep, taking a break from blogging for a couple of weeks as I am in the states (for the first time since April 2008), spending lots of time with my 91 year old mom and our precious children and other family members. Loving the time...will post photos later. Doing a lot of traveling so keep us both in your prayers.

Remember to call the Ch'orti' to the Father...
to create a desire to know the Truth,
to discern Truth from error,
to hear the message of Salvation,
to receive the free gift of Salvation,
to join us around the Throne of the Father.

Meet you in prayer at the Throne.

Encuentro Indigena

One of the special things which blessed our hearts was the testimony of Melanya, the wife of Pastor Jeronimo. We have shared of the plight of Pastor Jeronimo and the injustice that has prevailed in his case here in Guatemala. On Wednesday afternoon, Melanya shared of God's faithfulness to them. Though there is no income coming into the home, God has provided for their needs. Pastor Jeronimo has led over 50 people to the Lord and is discipling many of them to fruitful ministry. As they prayed over Jeronimo and Melanya and their three children, God continues to faithfully sustain and guard their hearts.

Since the Encuentro, the following update has been received..."This is the nightmare that never ends...yes, it goes on and on my friends... Jeronimo lost the appeal today and will go to full trial in July or August for the murder he could not have committed. Sooooooo disappointing!" Continue to pray...even in this,God is in control.

Hands and Feet from MFBC

One of the things that MFBC provided was gift bags for each of the attendees. Each age division of their church were assigned a particular group of items to provide - hand sanitizer, small bottles of shampoo, small kleenex packets, nail files, etc. These items filled goody bags which were a delight to give and receive.

The team also filled material bags for each attendee.

They prayerwalked in San Andres Itzapa, praying for the light to shine brightly against the darkness which permeates the entire village.

They assisted at registration,

the tienda (snack bar),

t-shirt sales,

cooking, serving and washing dishes.

(Did I mention, washing dishes? I know they wish they had a quarter for every dish they washed.)

But least you think all they did was work, we took part of one day to shop in Antigua and visited Ronald at the really neat McDonald's there.

And we took a quick trip to Lake Atitlan for a boat ride across the lake to Santiago, to do a little more shopping and sightseeing before returning to zipline high above the jungle.

Well, some of us, enjoyed the walking the trail and viewing the monkeys and watching the flyers enjoy themselves.

Then we returned to the capital for packing and a return flight home.

Thank you MFBC for all you did to encourage and bless our indigenous pastors and leaders. Thank you for sending a very special team (incluing our precious daughter, Rebecca) to minister as your hands and feet in the name of Jesus.

Thank you for your prayers...

Thank you for your prayers for El Encuentro Indigenous. What a blessing it was to be a part of the Lord moving among our indigenous pastors and leaders as they were awakened to how God could use them to reach all of Guatemala and around the world from their small villages.

The team from Marietta (SC) First Baptist Church worked tirelessly to prepare for the conference and joyfully served the attendees. The entire church participated in their preparation both in gifts, monetary donations and prayer support. The ten who came were the hands and feet of their ministry. Thank you for sharing and giving.

Encuentro Indigenous

We have long anticipated this week. Many indigenous pastors and leaders from Mexico, Panama, Guatemala and other countries of Central America are gathering in Guatemala.

Pray for their safety as they travel to and from Chimaltenango, many for long hours.
Pray for the Spirit to fall fresh on each of us.
Pray for hearts and eyes to see God's vision for reaching their country, their continent, their world with the Gospel of Salvation.
Pray for the binding of the evil one in one of his most tightly held towns.
Pray for freedom for those to hear the Truth and receive.
Pray for the team from MFBC from Marietta, SC as they minister and serve our brothers.
Pray for special time with our daughter Rebecca.

He is Risen...He is Risen Indeed!

As many around us are celebrating the death of Jesus, they still walk in darkness trying to pay penance for their sins. They have not understood the FINISHED work Jesus paid in his death on the cross. They have not understood the COMPLETED work as God the Father raised Jesus from the grave signifying the sufficiency of the sacrifice for payment of the penalty of sin. They have not understood FORGIVENESS of all their sins, past, present and future, by faith alone. They walk without hope.

Some have never heard. Some have never believed. Some have never received.

On this glorious RESURRECTION day, pray that the message will be clear, pray that hearts will be receptive, pray that they will receive.

On this glorious RESURRECTION day, celebrate the sure Certainty of salvation through the completed work of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

On this glorious RESURRECTION day, anticipate the soon coming King to receive His own.

He is Risen...just as He said...He is Risen...He is Risen Indeed!
