The White Flower

We have a plant beside our driveway that we were told blooms once a year for one night.  In May, we noticed that it was budding. It had three buds so we were watching it anxiously.  Every evening we would go outside to check if it was beginning to open.  And one night we caught the following.

Sad to say that we didn't get to see the other two bloom as we had to go out of town.

We don't know its name, if you can help, we would appreciate it.

It was well worth the wait to see the beauty of creation and the splendor of "the white flower."

Perhaps it is this one-.

Native to Central America and Northern South America, the Kadupul flower blooms rarely and only at night – mysteriously, the flower wilts before dawn. Latin name Epiphyllum oxypetalum.

If you are going to take pics of flowers, that is an appropriate one to do! That's pretty cool that you were able to catch it on its "one night"! :)
